I fell into the moon
my body trapped in its core
my fingers reached to the top
grazed its bone-white dust
on the shore of the moonlight
surrounded by the wide sea of stars
bobbing around distant
fading and erupting,
these grieving buoyant bodies.
I watched as I drowned
into the dense moon’s sequestering bone yard
there where elves and gods,
wishes, magic, dreams
old man’s last breath
faint fading ego
all dissipate
into the moon cold bone yard,
lidless in its slumber,
the pale eye of the night.
