Even in silence, the world is a symphony
It plays perpetually
In light
In color
In the very heartbeat and pulse
As we turn.
We live a lifetime of moments
Little chunks of time
That live forever in and of themselves
In this moment, I sit in silence, with
The itchy tickle of the grass beneath me.
The grass glows with the gleam of sun, of life,
And is punctuated with dying daffodils,
Begging to be blown.
Each seed is like a tiny hope
A little dream, a piece of promise.
In a world where these things are
So hard to find,
I take comfort in the sight.
I help release them,
Surrender them to the gentle wind.
They ride the breeze, destination unknown.
And I sit in silence,
In peace,
Reminded that hope still lives.
The sun still shines.
The earth still turns.
And the world’s symphony plays on.
