Ocean

Dumped into a sea of deception/
swallowed up by the waves of lies/
broken promises pounding against my soul/

My body is being tossed about in the turmoil/
confusion wraps me in coldness/
the dampness runs down my cheeks/

Left alone in the bitter cold to mind my own/
reflections have shown how we cap sided/

Wave after wave, I withstand the pain/
drifting & floating to an inner peace/
I came to rest upon the shore of a new land.../

I stand to my feet to walk towards a forgotten
past & a new me...
