A Sunflower Speaks

The solar disk generates my life force,
I am the flower reflecting his fire,
My blossom follows his diurnal course,
My petals dance because of his desire,
He gives me everything that I require,
He asks of me only one sacrifice:
I let my seeds germinate and inspire
Humankind to consume life’s sacred spice,
That each day they use his energy source,
To conserve and renew their own life force.
