TO DEMETRIOUS









It was in eighty seven

when I took you to the school

your first day in school

I still remember that day



when you saw the children

you were ready to go

yet, you still kept holding  my arm

I did not want to let you go



then you spoke for the first time

‘Dada, then, can we go home now

and come back tomorrow?’

you may have seen the sadness on my face



‘No, son, now you must go there

go to the class and study well

be a man, a strong one….’

I thought so, I still remember…



then you ran to the class

leaving me alone and sad

near the door you turned and looked back

I saw tears in your eyes too!
