“You’re not real!” I screamed at the thing, hoping to force him back to his side of reality with sheer force of will. I failed. He laughed.
"That’s right, Mr. White, scream for me.” I knew this creature. This horrid abomination born from the dark recesses of my very mind. A dark, distorted doppelganger, not of this world, but of the world of fairy tales and nightmares. A world that I created. How it managed to find me, to break the barrier between the real and not real, is a mystery to me. I thought I was in control. I thought it was just a nonsensical character in a bewildering story, yet he stands here, staring me in the face with his black eyes and soulless smile. “You say that I am not real? Yet here I am, Mr. White,” his long, claw-like fingers tapped each other as he stared at me. “and I have plans for you.” His voice shot spasms of nausea throughout my body. I collapsed, and the last thing I saw as the world darkened around me was his pale, smiling face.
