CHANGES


To leave a place that brings you sorrow,
Where loves has ceased and life is borrowed.
Can promise bring of new tomorrows.
Is what we want to believe.


Empty feelings dead inside
The dark has fallen were I reside.
Each day a challenge to go on,
No longer waiting for the dawn.


Time is slow and goes nowhere
I look around and stop and stare.
A house of love with none to share
The choices made are what we bear.


Another day to stop and ponder
Choices made that make me wonder.
Do I perhaps think they were wrong?
No I am where I do belong.


Empty feelings gone away
Dark has fallen and that’s ok.
What once was detested and dreaded so
Is welcomed in my cherished abode.
