The darkness descends,
The walls compress,
Miles from safety,
Minutes from harm,
Terrifying creatures,
Of immeasurable power,
Surround my castle,
Of piled blankets,
Hear them stagger and crawl,
Across the carpeted floor,
What is this horror,
Sent from the late night screen?
Black and White,
Films of old,
Haunt my dreams.
