It started off as a poem but seems to fit together as a song. |
The others have all gone But I know your dark touch is always here I am no longer strong But when I lose the wheel you’ll steer I’ve still got pain And you provide me with my fears I’m losing this game And my loss you keep on calling on In the deep dark lonely coldest night I feel alone but you’re in sight In my head there you stay Every night everyday You are my only company But what good are you to me? Between four walls I reside And you’re there speaking in my head You never ever left my mind When I’m low you’re never dead You’re the darkest place that I’ve ever been And yet you’re my only friend The more I pray the more you stay To more solace I am led In the deep dark lonely coldest night I feel alone but you’re in sight In my head there you stay Every night everyday You are my only company But what good are you to me? And the pills that I take Seem to keep you awake And the tears that I cry Just help you to survive And the more that I’m weak Means the more that you speak And the pain that I feel I know you will not steal Where are you when I’m gone? Talking down a loaded gun And you took my light Why won’t you leave my side? In the deep lonely coldest night I feel alone but you’re in sight In my head there you stay Every night everyday You are my only company But what good are you to me? |
