All Candy and No Teeth |
Poor little girl had so many teeth She could fill a witch's brew But noon-day one fell right out into her shoe She bent down to get it, to place it in a silver box But just as she did, she filled her mouth with more chocolate dots Sometime later she stooped to get undressed, just then another tooth popped out and oops, well she confessed: 'Maybe I'm filling my mouth too much with gumdrops, jujubes and liquorice strings and such' She began to laugh hysterically at her own words As she passed the mirror this is what she had observed The shocking reflection caused her to scream and stir hear her own voice filled with horror 'My teeth, my teeth! ‘‘I had thousands of them Now all I have left is one little gem" Eating made her look like clacky the clown "If I cannot chew how will it go down?" Scared about what her friends might say She lost the courage to simply pray She often swung high on a swing all alone nervous and jumpy and quite sugar prone 'How will I get my teeth put back? 'What ever shall I do with the one all black? She smirked all tight showing her gums in full view chewing long laces of terracotta goo Squirrel-nut chocolate with icing on top candy sticks with bubbles all a pop So many teeth had she they'd of filled a sachet those thousand gems turned into decay Now she hid her face from everyone under the sun She never did smile again, you see, all she had were two pink gums |
