Your Royal Highness, H.R.M Ludwig, King of Bavaria


Your Grace does me too great an honor, as even my notorious quill must meet its obstacles and due censure. But never, I assure your Majesty, was my pen more drawn on the side of good sense and employed by my natural love for justice and truth as when I composed what's defamed as libels and sins by my insipid enemies.
Hypocrisy and falsehood are the vermin my pen is continually pricking and goading, and if not always happy in success, then all the more generous in its aim.

Grown weary and languid of the morbid country life ( our court has abandoned London for the summer), I shall gladly accept the great honor of spending time in your Grace's sublime presence and country.

I shall take my leave as soon as my King will permit it. A horseman with such a request will be sent to my King Charles in Oxford with the greatest of speeds.

Prey, consider yourself within my infamous company soon.
