The siren. She seduces men, only to destroy them. But there is another side to her.
The Siren

I gaze out on the frothy sea,
Deep and bottomless, meaningless.
The shifting waves wash over me,
Merciless, always relentless.

An island in this raging sea,
Minuscule, rocky and friendless.
That’s all I have to shelter me.
Sailor, please come rescue me!

A monster I’m believed to be,
Demon and murderous temptress.
Though evil owns no part of me
My misery is endless.

A thousand lovers lost at sea
Lost in the dark, frigid emptiness.
That’s the fate awaiting me.
Sailor, please come rescue me!

O sailor, you have come to me
Over the ocean so ruthless!
You’ve fought the gales so gallantly
And proven yourself to be fearless.

But sailor, as you reach for me
The waters churn in earnest
And rip you from me violently.
Sailor!  Please, come back to me!

Another sailor lost at sea…
Another lover lost to me.
Yet desperation makes me sing:
Sailor, please come rescue me…
