Looking Forward

                                        LOOKING FORWARD





Looking back on what has been

And forward to what will be                    

Is something I do with gratitude

For blessing showered on me.



I’ve been to a place of sadness

I’ve cried till my tears ran dry

And through it all without regret

I've managed to survive.



I’ve known love and loss with equal aplomb

Too often disappointment a friend

Success has been mine many a time

All to allow me the mend.



Looking forward the blessing

A song for which I sing.

A dance I dance with joy

For the gift tomorrow can bring.



I know not why I have been blessed

Questioning it would be wrong.

I have my faith and those who cared

Gratitude is my song.



Looking forward to the new morn

With the warming sun

Ability to walk through it

And to welcome whatever may come.



Will the days that come be grand

Will my blessings continue to grow

If they do not, of one thing I’m sure

Through it, I’ll come and with I’ll know.



I know tomorrow is promised to no-one

Not me nor mine for sure

But to face it with grace and love

I’ll make it to a place that is pure.
