He's on his own, one against billions.
He marched towards the towering trees that were older than anyone still alive. Boots covered in dried mud, pants torn and shirt worn down from use and age. Armed with a rather wooded pole that ended in what looked to be a deformed pitchfork, he bravely surveyed the land around him.

As he took one more step, he realized too late that he had walked into a trap. Yelping in pain as it bit into his leg, the young boy tried to ignore the pulse and instead focus on the enemy army that had completely surrounded him. They were every where, millions if not billions of them and it seemed with every breath their numbers were growing.

Brown, red, yellow and many other colors were represented in the small monsters. The largest was barely bigger than his hands, but they had him outnumbered and they had all kinds of weapons.

“Well, it’s now or ever. I’m a one man army, no one else can do this.” He grumbled to himself, already sweating with fear.

He pushed his ungainly weapon out, and then pulled the enemy towards him. The screamed, cursed, and struggled as they were piled upon one another. The traps fell apart and their weapons useless. Again and again he did this, smiling as he could finally see the earth and even grass underneath.

Days went by, and though he suffered many injuries he found that he was slowly winning the war. Feeling confident, the young man stood up straight and took in what he had done. All at once it vanished, his thoughts that maybe he could win the war and go home blown away with the wind.

“Man! It’s going to take forever to rake the lawn!” He cried, throwing the rake to the ground and passing by the pile that was nearly as tall as he was.
