Chapter 2: Alliances


    Alliances are a big thing in the vampire world. Covens fight other covens for territories.  Vampires are slaughtered for their families and their pride, which I find is plain stupid. Vinny and I have decided to not join a coven. We are just nomads traveling the country. Vinny talked to Elder Simon, and he said to leave Jade alone. Elder Simon as I said, is rude, but has the power to lead the vampires on a war with humans. Jade could be a big part of that. While Vinny and I were talking with Jade, she said that Simon had told her she said a special power that no one else had. Newborn vampires sleep little, but as you get older, you don’t sleep at all. At Jade’s age, she sleeps and I watched her sleep.  Yeah, I admit that it was creeperish. But Jade was tossing and turning and screaming in her sleep! Of course, me being the kind person I am, woke her up. Jade was panting and told me about her dream, she said it looked so clear and real. My first instinct was to tell another elder besides Simon. All together there were five elders. They voted on matters so it couldn’t be a tie.
    I brought Jade to Elder Veronica. She was the only kind and gentle elder. Veronica was deeply worried, and of course Simon told her all about Jade.
‘’Honey, what exactly did you see in this vision?’’ said Veronica.
‘’I saw vampires, well I mean thousands of vampires, slaughtering humans, and they weren’t, well, biting him. Just killing.’’ Jade said.
Veronica gasped. Jade seemed very tired and stressed out.
‘’Did you see who was leading the vampires? An elder only has that power.’’ Veronica said.
‘’I’m sorry, no.’’ Jade was crying at this point.
    Veronica called a meeting with the elders after talking with Jade. The elders have met a type of vampire like Jade. They all agreed that she was a psychic. That was the translation, it was originally in Russian. If would want to become a elder, you have to learn Russian. Don’t ask me why. It’s just plain weird. The elders talk to each other in Russian so they don’t have to worry about other vampires listening to them.
‘’Jade, you’re a psychic!’’ I said.
‘’Yeah, that’s a great honor, none of the elders have been gifted like that.’’ Vinny said.
    I assumed that Jade was the type of person who wanted to hide in the shadows instead of blending in or being in the spotlight. She didn’t seem too happy about being the only gifted vampire in the north and south east.
‘’Guys, I know you might not want to help me but-’’ Jade was cut off by me.
‘’We know we want to help you. You’re amazing! And your just a newborn too. That makes it even more amazing.’’
‘’Then help me by bringing me to the bathroom. I feel like I’m gonna be sick!’’ Jade spat out.
‘’Oh! Okay.’’ I said that before Vinny and I dragged her to the bathroom.
    I didn’t really get the point of bathrooms since we don’t eat or use the bathroom. But now they finally came in handy. In the first three months as a newborn, you still eat, drink, and use the bathroom. But as an adult vampire, blood fills your diet. So if you’re a nomad like Vinny and I, you don’t have to steal food.
‘’Apparently, the bad side of visions, is puking.’’ I said after I brought Jade into the bathroom.
  The only powers we had studied as a psychic was visions. The elders couldn’t possibly imagine the possibilities of more into it like mind reading, or telepathy.           
‘’Poor girl, she just got changed and realizes she’s special than all of us.’’ Vinny said
‘’I don’t know, she seems, weird. Like, she’s hiding something. I’m usually right about these thing. And Vinny, you know I’m right. Tell me you don’t have bad feelings about her.’’
‘’Izzy, she seems nice but she needs some friends right now. Jade is a newborn who just found out she is more powerful than all the elders combined. Simon was right when he changed her. Even though I hate that man, I’ll give him this, he has good senses. Simon is what like, five hundred seventy one? Old man has been changing humans since he became an elder. And every one of those humans have became powerful vampires.’’
‘’Vin, you have a point, but as you said every human he changed became powerful, but they were evil at some point. I mean seriously, Joshua became vampire ruler of Turkey. He kidnaps at least 200 citizens every day. Those humans aren’t necessary, even for his guard. He has fifty men and women protecting him and that’s still an overload. Simon even approves of it. Doesn’t your creator watch over you? Well you’re my creator. You’re supposed to look after me! I always felt like a big brother to you. Yet you’re four days older than me, vampire birthday wise.’’
‘’Vinny you’ve always been a big brother to me. Therefore you take care of me! You are bigger and stronger than me, and a bit more scarier than me. Vampires are not afraid of me. They are of you, Vinny you’re pretty intimidating. You’re what, like, five eleven?’’      Vinny laughed. ‘’Yeah I am actually, last time I went to the doctors before I changed, yeah I was 5’11.’’
    Jade came out of the bathroom. ‘’Are vampires supposed to barf like this? If so, this life really sucks.’’
‘’No, as you mature you stop eating and barfing and stuff like that.’’
‘’As a mature vampire, you drink blood right?’’
‘’Um, yeah you do. You should’ve had your first dose of blood already. And if you don’t, well, there’s no easy way to put this. You’ll go insane and eventually explode.’’
  Jade groaned. ‘’Ah, crap! I thought being a vegetarian was tough. Now I have to kill my fellow man.’’
    Vinny stepped forward from the bench we were sitting on and approached the standing Jade. ‘’Jade, I hate to break it to you, but your not human anymore.’’
‘’I forgot! That’s the worse thing to forget! I’m a stinkin’ vampire for Fall Out Boys sake!’’
‘’Fall Out Boy?’’ I asked
‘’Yeah my favorite band.’’ Jade expressed.
‘’Many things to learn, in so long. But we have eternity!’’ Vinny said. He could never get over the fact that he’s fifteen forever.
‘’Heck ya!’’ I yelled.
A group of vampires looked over at us and gave u the evil eye. Jade and I giggled.
