Never Born

My unborn child, you will never see the light of your first day.
Nor breathe the toxic fumes of life.
Never see, never be.

Not because I would not love you.
I would love you too much.

I would die for others, but not live for them.
For you my child, I could not peacefully leave this life.
A prison of love forever denying me the release I crave.

I pray to God that you are never born.
My heart and mind are forever torn.
