A man in love is distressed after his lover dies. |
The crows circle as the casket Baring my love Is slowly lowered into the earth. I can see those around me As they weep wildly, Yet all I hear is the silence The silence screaming her name. Yes, the roaring silence. Not even the angels dare to sing A final lullaby to my sweet. The hovering crows seem to pulsate Along with my heart, Strangely still beating As if it weren't broken. Nay, my heart is not broken, But in the possession of my fallen lover. As she moves on to the next world My heart and dreams travel with her. Why have I been forsaken? She may be laid to rest But I will never rest easy again.... Or atleast not in life. I long to embrace her once again, I can still see her deep, dark eyes Twinkling with warmth Equal to the heatwave of passion In my soul. Her perfectly white skin that she wore Like the silk of the full moon, At first radiant and full of life Now rots and decays beneath me. Like her hourglass ran out far too soon And my own was broken and shattered Into a million pieces. I wish I could mix the sands Of our hourglasses together, So we could become one. We could then forever love together, For it wouldn't matter If we were walking in the sun Or six feet under, We would be together. ~*~ By now the sun has gone And only the moon remains. I cannot gaze at it, For it is the same everlasting hue Of white as her's. I vow to myself, and to her, I will hold her once again soon. By twilight tonight I'll leave the world on my own accord. I will embrace death And her name is Paige. |
