dark poem

The Dark Poem



as the sun sets upon the southern hills

and darkness sets in throughout the land

evil starts looking for its thrills

and takes chaos by the hand



the sky is dark and the air is thick

the animals have all settled into their nests.

the plants have all closed for the night

for fear of the humans test



when the night is the darkest

and all is in bed

that is when the lowly humans

start poking out their heads



they would never do it in the day

when others could see

they wait till they are concealed

to show the world what they can truly be.



and as the sun starts poking its head over the horizon

the evil retreats back into its cave

to regroup and recover

and wait for another day
