A poem about a more spiritual relationship with rhythm. |
We join tonight in fellowship And set aside our strife. We rejoice in and become one With the continuous rhythm of life. From the rhythm of our wild feet To the songs of whispering winds, We ease into a natural trance And forget our horrible sins. From the humblest that creepest upon the ground To the mighty kings of Earth, For all take part in the world’s song In the form of breath from birth. Awake and rejoice, all my brothers, For your voices feed the fire! Dance without cease, all my sisters, and watch as the flames grow higher! See yourself in the fire, all my siblings, And remember the leaping flame. Like the beat of our universe, friends, We shall never be tame! Hear the cries of the twinkling stars And sing to the rhythm inside. Sing to the songs of the world around you And sway to the moon and tide. Rejoice, oh children, and sing with me And dance to the enticing beat! For the whole world shall tremble in fear From the sound of our stomping feet! Remember the beginning, oh faithful ones, How the universe lay in schisms. Remember then how order was spoken And set into life giving rhythms. So now we join tonight in fellowship And set aside our strife. We rejoice in and become one with the universal rhythm of life. |
