How a little girl struggles with the concept of an imagination.. |
Once upon a time there was a girl named Ash. At a very young age Ash discovered she was different, you see unlike most children Ash had been deprived of stories growing up and as such had none to share. Whilst others imaginations ran wild with stories of monsters, heroes, princesses, castles and bravery; Ash's imagination remained blank and unused. One day Ash found herself determined to discover the mysteries of this illusive "imagination" that had gifted all the other children but had failed to introduce itself to her. She searched high and low within her room, making sure to search under the bed (an important part in most of the other children's stories), but still she could not find it. After much thought Ash came to the conclusion that maybe it wasn't something that could be found but maybe one had to be introduced to it. It was due to this conclusion that Ash set out to introduce herself to this "imagination". She introduced herself to many a people but none were named Imagination. When she asked if they knew of an imagination they would all laugh, each taking turns in tapping their fingers to their temples and stating that theirs were still with them. When she asked if she could meet theirs they would laugh again and depending on the person, they would either walk away or tell her vast and bizarre stories much like the children she knew. It was the night after this failed attempt that something magical happened. For you see when Ash went to her room that night she was confronted by a girl whose skin shone so bright that one had to take two glances just to see her completely. When this girl spoke, her words came in the form of a song. And whilst she made certain to Ash that she was not her imagination, she guaranteed that she could help Ash discover it. Just then a doorway appeared above Ash's bed and, with the wilful insistence of the glowing girl, she entered into it and set forth on a journey to discover her imagination. What did she find? No-one knows for you see when Ash returned she did not tell of her adventure, instead she would tell them that she had found her imagination and to anyone that cared they would have to wait. For it's discovery would be a story that would have to be told another time. |
