The misty love of my life. |
The Uncommon Shadow The common shadow Displaying their figure each melancholy night They firmly grasp to the lamps and lights Avoiding the darkness of night Flowing through each street They show off while in the day light But I want the hidden unknown The shadows only seen amongst the darkness of the alleys Unlit by the light of the streets All one can see is darkness In the deepening black Unseen shadows to dark for the common passer by to spot But I can see the darkness And for that I divulge to know I venture through the alleys Seeing such beautiful shadows Completely unknown to society Glittering gems hidden away Figures more splendid then the realm of fairies Just as something out of dreams As I am seen entering and exiting Those individuals, those who pass by More common then not question my decision They share a false pity for me For my unorthodox decision And once emerged with my uncommon shadow Dim and faded in the sunlight They laugh and stare They shun and insult me I hide away at home till night Sad, crying, shaking The splendorous attributes begin to show The hidden beauty of my shadow comforts me Giving me a gladness of heart It bandages my heart with feelings Happiness, encouragement, laughter A calm superior I must share with others Those despicable bystanders Those who laugh and insult me But the prophet I’ am Falls on hard hearts and contrite spirits For they love their flashy shadows Completely unprepared for the truth Where does their shadow go when they enter the darkness? |
