Loneliness stacks the night

Funny it's not so bad during the day, but let it get dark out side and you can hear the foot steps of loneliness
I was doing ok until this last weekend, spending time with new friends and a few old, when I realized that I was so grateful not to be alone.
We laughed and talked, played, and sang, it was so much fun.
Then the weekend ended and had to go back to my very quiet life.

I could hear the foot steps of loneliness, tiptoeing down my hall,
My dog did not bark or alert me that it was coming my way.

The steps got closer and closer
until it touched me.
In side I cried out! No, I will not succumb to the silence

I have walked around in the silence of my life, I play music but it does not respond to my jokes
Tv, only takes up time and there is no one to laugh with me
Walks are always good but sometime you must return home

So As the light appears, loneliness whispers,
I'll see you soon
