A short seen in book two, also is informational. |
“Kashimiya! You’re back!” Sheruta yelled as she saw her friend get off the bus. Kashimiya had been gone for about a week visiting Scotland and England, and had no way of communicating with one another. This one week felt like a year to Sheruta, as she missed having her friend to talk to. Before Kashimiya even knew what was going on, she saw Sheruta lunging toward her. “Oh no…” Was all she could say before Sheruta whammed into her in a hug. Kashimiya was forced back a bit, but no harm done. After the shock was over Sheruta let go and the questions flew. “Kashimiya you jerk! Why’d you have to be gone so long? Well don’t just stand there like a nut, tell me what happened! Did Foxy follow you? Did you get attacked? Was it nice there? Spill!” “Hold on,” Kashimiya started, “I’ll tell you all about it once we get inside ok?” As she already started to head towards the school doors. Sheruta followed, still eager to know about her adventures. “Well first, I went to Scotland, and I got you something I think you’ll like.” Kashimiya started rummaging through her back pack while walking through the kid filled halls. She took it out with a small box in her hand. “Here.” She declared as she gave it to Sheruta. She opened the box and found a gold coin inside. The front had a face and some weird righting on it, but when Sheruta flipped it over, she gasped. It was a dragon with griffon like features. “This is mine?” Sheruta was thrilled. Kashimiya nodded and Sheruta again hugged her friend, but less forcefully this time. “Oh thank you! I love it! I can make a special place for it in our Treasure Room!” The Norikae Treasure Room was nothing to be gauged at indeed. It was a vast collection of priceless, non-magical artifacts that displayed the culture of not only ancient Norikaes, but also of other civilizations. Though the room is located in the castle and is heavily guarded, it is open to the public as a museum of sorts. The only room that is forbidden to most is called as thus, the Forbidden Room. Here is the home to the magical and dangerous artifacts that the Norikaes have come into possession of. The Crystallized, gem powered Gun that had claimed the lives of both Kashikoi and Kizuku was once in that room until Korosu took it out. Now it is no where to be found. The last room that was as well known as those two is the Library. Moonlight spent most of his free time there, which was all the time, considering Usuakari does all the real work. But because of it Moonlight is well within the ranks of the knowledgeable. Sometimes Usuakari herself goes to him for advice or information on one thing or another. The library is filled to the top with books and scrolls, and the room was taller than most, three stories high about, and that’s just the first floor of it. Go up the spiral stairs and you’ll reach the next level. “You don’t have to go that far.” Kashimiya smiled, “But it’s yours so you can do what you want with it.” “Well I’ve never seen anything like it before, and I’m sure no one else at home has either.” “Probably not. Oh but when I went diving, I found the coolest place I had ever seen!” She changed the subject to get as much in before first period. “It had a whole mess of dragon statues with ruby eyes! There were stone tablets with dragon writing on them! It read something like how the world will one day fall into the tragedy that they once had, and they’ll return when it does. I could actually read it though, it was awesome!” Sheruta was intrigued, “So are you part dragon now to?” “I don’t think so, no one in my family is anyway, and with Nikumus training I would’ve known by now.” She sounded like she was half regretting it, as she absolutely loved dragons. “Oh boy.” Kashimiya stated after the fact. Sheruta was confused, “What?” Kashimiya stopped walking, and Sheruta paused as well. “Nikumu! She’s going to train me five times as hard to make up for my vacation! That’s why she was smiling when I got back!” She started to panic. “Oh boy is right.” Sheruta agreed. “I still say that you should have some sort of say when it comes to training you, I mean, you can’t train 24-7.” The two girls looked up as the warning bell rang. “Ok well I’ll have to tell you about the castle in England later, I can’t be late. See ya!” Kashimiya started running off. “Bye!” Sheruta called back, starting to walk off herself. |
