A Revelation

                As I have said in the past, I am not a real religious person.  Raised in a southern Baptist family, I attended a very small family run church in a town so small that if you stood in the middle of town and spat in any direction it would land outside the limits.  Most of you reading this should be aware of my feelings on the current state of most churches, if not I state that I do not believe that today’s churches are what God, or Jesus had intended.  Most churches are a congregation place for the two faced, unfaithful hypocrites that are plaguing our planet. 

         However, whatever my personal views of the church are, I still have been instilled with certain values and very real beliefs from attending church as a young boy every week.  As I have matured, I have often thought about faith and God, and allot about prophecy.  The book of “Revelation” lays out God’s final plan for man.  Growing up I never really gave the book a really good look, nor did I even really understand it’s meaning to a certain point, but the older I get the more of God’s teaching comes into focus.

Ever since September 11th, the entire planet almost has been on the edge of total all out world war, a war that I believe to be THE war of biblical prophecy.  The apocalypse is near.  I truly believe this now, no doubt left.  The events of 9/11 were the sparks that ignited the flames of damnation for humanity, day by day, month after month; we get closer, and closer to the return of Christ.  The entire world is ready to annihilate each other and if we are not careful, we will sign our own death warrants.  The first point that I would like to make is in regards to Chapter 24: Verses 6-8 of the book of Matthew.

              “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.  Such things must happen, but the end is still to come, nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of birth pains.”

              Now if you look at the passage we read, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.  Such things must happen, but the end is still to come, nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”

This is no more prominently evident than the recent conflicts in the Middle East.  The United States in a very open war on terror and the re-stabilization of Iraq after the ousting of Saddam, and the hunt for the man responsible for the 9/11 attacks Osama Bin Laden.

We have North Korea entering the nuclear arms race with tests of short and long-range missiles.  With threats of “Fire Showers” over the continental United States and Hawaii the North Korean regime is making their stance known.  Any attempt by the United States or the United Nations to invade, or stop them in their quest for world power will be dealt with swiftly and harshly. 

The United States of America is the only nation on the face of the planet to ever use a nuclear weapon during a time of war against our enemies.  Everyone knows the stories of the weapon that ended World War II, or the weapon that decimated Nagasaki and Hiroshima.  In a last ditch effort to end the war president Harry S. Truman on August 6th & 9th, after six months of intense fire-bombing of 67 other Japanese cities, and following an ultimatum which was ignored by the Shōwa regime, the nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima followed by the "Fat Man" over Nagasaki.

              The nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki led, in part, to post-war Japan adopting Three Non-Nuclear Principles, forbidding the nation from nuclear armament.  However, this didn’t stop our neighbors from arming themselves.  Beginning shortly after WWII the entire world went nuclear, for the most part.  With some countries immediately arming themselves to “protect”, and others to become a world power but for whatever reason the earth has been on the edge of annihilation for centuries.

Whether we look at the Bay of Pigs which led to the Cuban Missile Crises off the coast of Florida, or the Cold War where the U.S. and the Soviet Union were at a stalemate with each others ability to be the dominating world power it involves nuclear weapons.  Even today, the year 2009, weapons of mass destruction still present a clear a present danger to the survival of mother earth and all of her children whether that is the human race, plants or animals the threat for total decimation is a very real threat.

China also has been in the news highlighting their ability to be a world power, not to mention they as well are new competitors in nuclear arms race that still until this day has a very ominous presence in the world.  We have terrorist attacks occurring around the world England, India, United States, and Egypt among others I am sure.  These attacks are killing hundreds if not thousands of people in every attack.  The human race is slowly being picked off by the evil of man and we cannot stop the horrible acts without compromising our beliefs in some manner, which is yet another of our downfalls.

              “There will be famines and earthquakes in various places” finally, no one can refute this statement!  In the past 10 years, the Earth has suffered some of the most horrible, and devastating natural disasters than ever before.  Not to mention that weather patterns around the world are changing, becoming increasingly more frequent and devastating.

              On December 26, 2004, the largest earthquake ever recorded hit off the coast of Indonesia, well over a 9.0, far from the quakes that southern California are used to. The earthquake sent a Tsunami racing around the Indian Ocean to parts of Africa, India, and Indonesia.  The death toll skyrocketed as the huge wave made its way across the ocean.  Indonesia being just miles from the epicenter of the quake was the first victim in its parade of death.  Hundred’s of thousands died in a watery grave as the wave came ashore into the unsuspecting residents and tourists.  The Tsunami continued to kill in smaller numbers as it slowly dissipated.  If this was not bad enough, on July 17, 2006 a smaller yet devastating earthquake again hit off the coast of Indonesia.  Whereas another tsunami streamed towards the island of Java killing 600, leaving 70 others missing, and 70,000 people misplaced from the homes.  The earthquake was even powerful enough to affect the tilt of the earth’s polar axis.

              Now keep in mind, of course, that I am not a professional scientist however I am a huge science junkie.  I know that weather patterns around the earth are and can be affected by many forces.  The tilt of the axis effects the location of the equator which in turn can affect weather patterns all over the world.  Earthquakes have become more frequent, and increasingly more powerful to the point that we cannot just look the other way.  According to the History Channel a total of approximately 220,000 people lost their lives either directly or indirectly due to the geographical location and the enormity of the tsunami.

              The United States as well has had its share of natural disasters in the recent past.  Hurricane Ivan, Francis, Jeanne and most of all Katrina wreaked havoc on the shores of multiple states on the coasts of the US.  Winds in excess of a hundred miles an hour battered the low-lying communities to point where they are no longer recognizable to even the most familiarized residents.  Storm surges that flooded New Orleans spread bacteria all over the city, corpses floated down the street among other disease-laden remnants of a once great party town.  Ivan torn through Florida with a vengeance and eventually hooking back over the US, re-entering the Atlantic regaining strength and coming back for a slightly lessened second attack on the sunshine state.  Jeanne moved extremely slowly as it passed over Cuba, which caused multiple deaths and massive damage to the poverty-stricken country.  Not to mention the storms that have been showing up as late are very powerful.  In 2008, the state of Ohio and many other mid-western states were hit with hurricane force winds that caused a power outage that lasted for days as thousands of Duke Energy customers were in the dark.

              Hurricanes draw their power from the ocean, the warmer the water the stronger the storm can become.  Usually, when a hurricane reaches landfall it begins to lose strength and break up.  Most continental states never really feel the full force of a storm of that magnitude due the hurricane not having warm water to sustain it.  However 2008’s Hurricane Ike even after landfall continued to cause major devastation and eventually causing millions of citizens to be in the dark for days or even weeks.  Hurricanes, tornados and cyclones are not the only types of dangers that lay in our future.  In a region of the ocean near South America the Earth’s magnetosphere is disappearing in quick fashion. 

              According to scientific reports from multiple sources the Earth’s magnetosphere has flipped many times in the past, this is known as a Geomagnetic Reversal and it will flip again, the question isn’t if it will happen but rather when it will happen.  The devastation that would be left on Earth after a polar shift would not only make travel by a compass impossible but animals such as birds, insects and many other species rely on the magnetic pull of the earth to direct them while migrating.  If the magnetosphere disappears one of the first things that we would notice would be the bird’s inability to efficiently navigate their surroundings causing panic in the streets as birds fly in to anything and everything, including us.  Shortly after the magnetosphere disappears the world would be under constant attack from electrical storms unparalleled in human history.  An electrical storm produces no rain, only lightning.  Lightning so powerful it can destroy standing structures and burn human bodies to a crisp.  This is nothing compared the super heated radiation that would bombard the earth. 

              These super heated rays would melt solid steel, cause third degree burns on humans and animals and flash boil the water on earth within seconds.  Right now the hole is causing the ocean temperatures to rise a few degrees, and cause storms that originate from this location to become more severe than normal, as the water is hotter, the storms can generate more power and sustain itself at a higher velocity. 

              “There will be famines…” again this statement cannot be refused.  If you look around the entire world famine is everywhere.  Whether this is North America or south, Africa, Asia, Australia, or Europe we have hundreds of thousands of people staving to death every day.

              Another very important point in world history that is foremost on my mind is the Russian nuclear power plant Chernobyl.  On April 26, 1986, the World's worst nuclear power accident occurred at Chernobyl in the former USSR, now the Ukraine. The Chernobyl nuclear power plant located 80 miles north of Kiev had four reactors and while testing reactor number 4 numerous safety procedures were disregarded. At 1:23 AM, the chain reaction in the reactor became out of control creating explosions and a fireball, which blew off the reactor's heavy steel and concrete lid.  The Chernobyl accident killed more than 30 people immediately. Because there was no containment building, a plume of nuclear fallout drifted over parts of the western Soviet Union, Eastern and Western Europe, Scandinavia, the British Isles, and eastern North America.  Large areas of Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia were badly contaminated, resulting in the evacuation and resettlement of over 336,000 people. About 60% of the radioactive fallout landed in Belarus, according to official post-Soviet data however, according to the 2006 “Torch” report, half of the radioactive fallout landed outside the three Soviet republics.

              It is difficult to tally accurately the number of deaths caused by the events at Chernobyl, as Soviet-era cover-up made it difficult to track down victims. Lists were incomplete, and Soviet authorities later forbade doctors to cite "radiation" on death certificates. Most of the expected long-term fatalities, especially those from cancer, have not yet actually occurred, and will be difficult to attribute specifically to the accident; tobacco smoking will cause several thousand times more cancer in the same population. Estimates and figures vary widely. The 2005 report prepared by the Chernobyl Forum, led by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and World Health Organization (WHO).  Attributed 56 direct deaths (47 accident workers, and nine children with thyroid cancer), and estimated that as many as 9000 people among the approximately 6.6 million most highly exposed, may die from some form of cancer (one of the induced diseases).

              The reason that I bring up Chernobyl is simple, in a rough translation from Ukrainian to English.  The word "Chernobyl" is taken from the Ukrainian word mugwort or WORMWOOD.  Wormwood is noted for its intense bitterness (Deuteronomy 29:18; Proverbs 5:4; Jeremiah 9:15; Amos 5:7) It is a type of bitterness, affliction, remorse, punitive suffering. In (Amos 6:12) this Hebrew word is rendered "hemlock" (R.V., "wormwood"). In the symbolical language of the Apocalypse (Revelation 8:10, 11) a star is represented as falling on the waters of the earth, causing the third part of the water to turn wormwood. The name by which the Greeks designated it, absinthian, means "undrinkable."  If you stop and think, the cloud of fallout representing the “Falling Star” would have caused enough radiation poisoning to the surrounding areas, as well as all over the world, make drinking water untouchable after the exposure.

         Okay, so we have examined various events that have leaded me to believe whole-heartedly that the end is near.  We have looked at 9/11, the war in Iraq, Earthquakes and changing weather patterns, and we have looked into Chernobyl, or wormwood.  In this section of A Revelation, I am going to look into the role that Iran is playing in the war on terror. 

         In a article printed in Newsweek Iran has been described as being “the peacekeeper” in the Middle East; however, they still continue to back Shiites in Lebanon and in Iraq.  Iran has always been a formidable foe, one that the United States has had our differences with in the past, but with the recent events I begin to see Iran stepping from behind the “Dust” curtain to unite the Arab nations.  Iraq, Iran, militants in Saudi Arabia, Israel, Lebanon, and Egypt will all eventually come together as one Arab nation.  I believe this is the “super power” described in the Bible, the nation that will out last all others after the rise of the anti-Christ.  Now do not get me wrong, it is not as I have inside information here, these are of course just my opinions, however all opinions are based on some fact.   

         This past week I sat down and watched the remake to the movie The Omen, now I don’t usually quote movies as part of my testimony, or part of my own beliefs but the beginning of the movie just made me think.  They took biblical prophecy and really brought it down to earth for all people to understand.  You do have to think though that the movie itself is about the apocalypse.  The Omen chronicles the birth of “Damian” also known as the beast, or the Anti-Christ.  In the opening scenes your are privy to information of the upcoming apocalypse as if you were a high ranking church official (I believe they were Catholics)  but the information that they were reviewing had me floored at the ability to take old world scriptures and translate them into today’s society, into current events.

              I would like to take a deeper look into these events as they were portrayed in the movie, because to be honest with you they make perfect sense and the accuracy of the information is phenomenal.  In the opening of the movie, we are set in a conference room as one minister instructs the room with the following information.



“When the first angel blew his horn wind and rain pounded the Earth.”

January 2000 – December 2000

A record number of natural disasters hit the world and in the years since natural disasters have been more frequent as well as more devastating.  In the past 10 years the United States alone has had several storms that have busted records for both damage and deaths.  Katrina in 2005 which was a category 3 hurricane caused $81,000,000,000.00 in damage.  2005’s Wilma was at $20,000,000,000.00 in damage and the list goes on and on including Charley, Ivan, Ike, Rita, Francis and Jeanne which were all within the past 8 years.

The movie equates that this as the destruction of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers.

Space Shuttle Columbia exploded and broke up in the skies over Texas and fell to the earth like a falling star from heaven burning like a torch.



“When the fourth angel blew his trumpet the sea rose up and swallowed 200,000 people.”

December 26, 2004

The largest earthquake ever recorded hit off the coast of Indonesia, well over a 9.0. The earthquake sent a Tsunami racing around the Indian Ocean to parts of Africa, India, and Indonesia with a death toll of 227,000 souls.



“When the fifth angel blew his horn a star fell from heaven to earth and to him was given the key to the bottomless pit.”



         Okay, so in the movie they equate this to be a meteor or an asteroid that is falling to the earth.  However, no such event has taken place nor is any such event scientifically predicted to be taking place in the near future, although as a huge science junkie; I love anything that has to do with space and the natural order of things.  I watch a very large amount of educational shows such as National Geographic, and History Channel documentaries and I could never forget the science channel with all of their space oriented shows.  I have been aware of a N.E.O. (Near Earth Object) named 99942 Apophis previously known by its provisional designation 2004 MN.  Everything I have gathered for this report is crucial, and pertinent to our point.  2004 MN, or 99942 Apophis is very interesting to the science community even if most danger scientifically has been disproven.  However, as a believer in a power greater than my own, the government, or most scientists I know that just because it can be proven harmless God is still yet in final control.

         Initial observations indicated a relatively large probability (up to 2.7%) that it would strike the Earth in 2029. Additional observations provided improved predictions that eliminated the possibility of an impact on Earth or the Moon in 2029. However there remained a possibility that during the 2029 close encounter with Earth, Apophis would pass through a gravitational keyhole, a precise region in space no more than about 400 meters across, which would set up a future impact on April 13, 2036. This possibility kept the asteroid at Level 1 on the Torino impact hazard scale until August 2006. It broke the record for the highest level on the Torino Scale, being, for only a short time, a level 4, before it was lowered.  Additional observations of the trajectory of Apophis revealed the "keyhole" would likely be missed and on August 5, 2006, Apophis was lowered to a Level 0 on the Torino Scale. As of October 19, 2006, the impact probability for April 13, 2036, is estimated at 1 in 45,000. An additional impact date in 2037 has been identified; however, the impact probability for that encounter is 1 in 12.3 million.

         Regardless of whether or not NASA claims there is no danger from Apophis, God can still make sure that the order of things stay on the right track.  Who is to say that Apophis is not what the 5th angel sounds in Revelation.  And to be perfectly honest, as a huge science junkie there is no way that the Earth could ever know every threat that circles the solar system.  N.E.O.’s are everywhere and at last report we have only found 60% of the life threatening asteroids, meteors, and comets.  So…40% of these N.E.O’s that could cause a MAJOR extinction event are still unaccounted for, and even with modern technology there is no way to track each and every one of these.  Any one of these unknowns could come slamming into the Earth’s atmosphere at any given moment.

This was portrayed in the movie with pictures of the dead, wars, famines, Disease, Pestilence, etc…



              I believe both mentally and emotionally that the demise of the human race is just around the corner.  Now we must realize that we cannot stop these events, but as human beings, we have an uncontrollable urge to survive, to live on but only the elite will rise to live, as heaven will reign on earth.

              I as a Christian I know in my heart that this has been going on for quite a few years now, and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it except pray and ask for forgiveness, because if you are “Left Behind” you will only regret your poor decision in the end.  But alas it is the end and there is no going back once you have been deemed in need of cleansing.  God is a loving God, however as any Christian knows he is also a vengeful God.  I implore everyone to look deep into your hearts and deep into your soul and ask yourself, “Am I ready?”  If you answer yes, that is great.  That is more than I can say.  I am not afraid I am not going to walk the streets of gold. Myself, I am afraid of how I am going to finally pass to the next existence.  The events that will transpire that finally have me being welcomed by my Mother & my Pappaw.  I miss them so very much and I cannot wait for our long awaited reunion.  If you answered no, I am not ready for the lord to return then let me suggest a prayer to get you to the streets of gold.

              You can pray right now and ask God to come into your heart and receive the new birth. Simply talk to Him as you would talk to another person. You might pray a prayer similar to this:

              “God, I come to you in the name of Jesus, I do not know you personally, but I want to know you. I believe that Your Word, the Bible is true. I repent for hardening my heart toward you, and delighting myself in things you hate. I do not want to go to hell; I really want to be free of my sin. Dear God, I ask Jesus to come into my heart and cleanse me of the guilt of my sins and give me the power to overcome those sins. I want to be your child and learn of your ways. Keep me from evil and save my soul. I am asking to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord so that I can experience God's love and plan for my life. Amen.”  If you said that prayer and meant it from your heart, you are now a child of God.
