Scary dreams that shake the night!
Keeps me up with another fight.
You don’t know I’m awake, but I
Listen and wait.
Everything is so dark and sad.
Remember, I am still here in my bed.

I dream all the time in my mind,
So you won’t see any crime…
A convicted child of nothing.
Another beating for speaking.
Coping with it by dreaming.

Everyday I become weaker.
My spirit is slowly being broken.
Mom is crying, is that my fault too?
All I do is wrong.

Anybody there?
No one sees me.

Everywhere there is pain.
Will I ever be happy?

Give me love and I will be good.
Relax, and try not to be mad.

I don’t know how to be an adult.
