ever preformed infront of your family? well i havent so i had the butterflies.
Soon it was 2 minutes before i was going to be preforming before my whole family of musicians. I prayed with my band as we ALWAYS did before a concert. Then Dad came up on stage and annoused us.
"Alright everyone now that you have met my daughter, you get to hear her and her band Rascal Flatts sing you a number or two. And here they are on drums Mickey Butler, On guitar Sophie Lopez, on Bass Hannah Figgle, and lead singer Paige Jackson, here they are Rascal Flatts." Dad said. we all walked on stage and got ready, my family had been clapping until we got ready to play then they got quiet and attentive.
The music started to play and i started to sing when i was suppose to.
"Lifes like a road that you travel on there's one day here and the next day gone, sometimes you been some stand sometimes you turn your back to the wind, there's a world outside every darken'd door the blues wont haunt you anymore, where the brave are free and lovers soar come ride with to the distant shore. We wont hesitate to break down the garden gate, theres not much time left today-----. Life is a Highway i wanna ride it all night long, if your going my way i wanna drive it all night long." I sang. They started to clap, they actually liked it. I looked over during a guitar solo, over at dad he had tears of joy in his eyes, i almost cried as well but i had to keep on preforming. After we were done my family got up on their feet screaming, wanting more. We played songs until we had no more to play or until my voice got tired which happened at about the same time.
Dad came up to me after the show and gave me a big hug and kiss. "Oh Paige i am so proud of you." He said. He had tears in his eyes.
"Oh daddy stop crying." I said giggling and pullin out a tissue that i always kept with me. I wipped his tears. He smiled. Grandma came up to me after the show too.
"I loved your music." She said.
"Thanks grandma a little birdy told me you like country." I said smiling while lookin at my dad.
"Yes i do love country. I grew up in Alabama so i heard country everywhere." She said. I hugged her. After i had a nice converstation with my grandmother dad had told me to go up to my room and get ready for supper. I nodded and went to do as i was told.

"Michael she is a wonderful child, so beautiful, so bright, so talented." Kathrine had said to my father.
"I know, I have always wanted a child and i decided that i didnt want to wait until i had a wife, i wanted someone now i was getting lonley in this big house. I could tell that she needed someone too." Michael said lookin my direction, because my friends had told me that they couldnt stay any longer. They also told me to tell my dad something later that night.
"I know Michael, I know you wanted someone. I could tell by the way you love Children so much that you were hungry for something that you never recieved as a child. Your own childhood." Kathrine said.
"I know now my baby isnt going to have one either. Her band is going to become famous, they are going to record their first album soon. I encourage her to do what ever she wants with her life, but im afraid she isnt going to have a normal childhood." he said.
"Michael i have a feeling that she hasnt already, what kind of normal child do you see living in an orphange for 8 years knowing that her parents are still alive, but they didnt want her. Now I think she is going to be just fine just keep your head high. She will be fine and when she and her band want to stop then they will. She is a smart girl and she isnt going to be doing anything without consulting you first." Kathrine said. He hugged her then it was off to supper.
A huge family i was used to with 40 kids around i was used to eating with a big family, so it didnt bother me. After we had said grace we all got food.
"So Paige where did you grow up?" Tito asked.
"Well i was raised in California but i was born in Tennessee." I said.
"Oh really what were your parents like?" He asked. The question i never liked to answer it was always too painful. But everyone was starin at me so i figured i should tell the whole story over again. Once I was done i got big eyes and silence. I was getting a little freaked out. "Umm hello??" I asked. No one said a word. i continued to eat.
"So you were abandoned and abused that is awful." Jermaine said. I nodded. We didnt say anything more on the subject.
"So Paige what do you like to do in your free time?" LaToya asked.
"Hmm music, music is my escape to everything, when i was in the orphange it was very tempting to do drugs and alcohol because i felt like it would be my only escape, to make me feel good. But i said to myself no i wouldnt do it, i have to find something else to be my escape i wasnt going to get into drugs and alcohol i needed to find something else. I asked Annie, she was the runner of the orphange, what would be a good escape, and she said Paige if you want an escape from something ill pay for a guitar for you. I was so shocked, i said yes i need it, i cant take this pain that i was feeling anymore. So she bought me a guitar and i learned to play on my own." I said. They were all so proud of me. They asked me a lot of questions that night and i answered what i could. Soon it was 9:30 and time for everyone to go home. I hugged them all and said we should all meet again sometime they agreed and then left.
"Wow that went really well." I said closing the door.
"Yeah it did go really well didnt it i was very surprised." Dad said sittin on the sofa, i sat down next to him. "So what did you think of the family?" He asked holdin me close.
"Oh they are wonderful i dont know what i was so worried about. But i love them with all of my heart i really do. They are so wonderful and supportive, something i havent gotton in a long time." I said.
"Well i am SO glad to hear that." He said. I smiled.
"OH yeah daddy umm Mickey told me that we will start recording on Tuesday next week. So yeah and i think you are suppose to know where it is." I said.
"Yes sweety i know, no worries let's just enjoy this weekend, and not think about work right now." He said kissing me on the top of my forhead. I nodded. "Well my babygirl i think that you have had a long day, do you want to get a shower and then we can watch a movie or you can just sleep or what do you want to do?" he asked.
"Well daddy im not all that sure right now. What do you want to do? I want to know what you want to do." I said. Dad was always asking me what i wanted to do but he would never tell me what he wanted to do.
"Hmm well why dont we both get showers, then you can come into my room and we can watch a movie how does that sound?" He asked. I nodded and headed up to my room to take a shower. Then after I took a shower, we watched our favorite movie ever Peter Pan about 30 minutes into the film i fell asleep.
"Charles come in here would you please but be quite." Dad said getting Charles in here before he left for home.
"Yes sir." he said heading into Daddy's room.
"Could you go into Paiges room, pull her covers back and turn on her TV?" He asked.
"Yes sir i sure will." He said heading quitely out of the room. I felt dad pick up my limp sleeping body, he was really strong because i weighed like 103 pounds for a 13 year old, who loves to sing and dance so that is why i kept so fit. I felt him tuckin me into my bed and saying to me "I love you my beautiful baby girl, may God bless you." Then i felt him kiss me on my lips goodnight. I had plesent dreams that night. I still couldnt believe that i was home.
