Free Verse about feeling ambivalent
Ambivalence ambled up
sat down beside me
decided to stay awhile
I was not sure how
I felt about that

The banality of thought
leaves me underwhelmed
Surrounded by malaise
I shuffle onward, aimless
unfocused, uneasy

Hope springs eternal
in my transitory life
antonyms, paradoxes
defense mechanisms all
ephemeral in nature

Elevated hearts, minds
metaphysical journeys
caress the moments
softly fleeting, swift,
gone
