Poem based on my short acting career. Location/Emotion Poem-Terror in the Closet
Terror seized me as the cardboard enveloped my head.
The oppressive heat of humid breath filled my nostrils,
Unpleasant and stale despite severe congestion.
I suppressed a loud sneeze,
Wiping my face with teh back of a sweaty hand.
My face already was red,
Hot from fever, anxiety, adn the ridiculous costume.

Prima Donna;
Opera Singer;
Madame de la Grande Bouche.
If I could portray the wretched woman,
If I could survive her depressing costume...!
Claustrophobia set in fast,
The walls closing in,
Imaginary articles of clothing battling for predominance.
Something felt as though it were strangling me,
Yet I had nothing near my neck to choke.

I yearned to go home,
Poking a head from the wardrobe front.
The fresh air was little help
As I despairingly thought of my predicament.

A claustrophobic actress
Forced to wear box-like regalia
Is quite a sardonic thing indeed,
Full of suffering and woe
On my behalf.
