15 years ago he was new on the sales floor.

We talked. He smiled. I laughed.

My friend called him hers.

I acquiesced letting go.

5 years ago he was at the end of a relationship.

He cried. I loved. We hugged.

He was too broken.

I didn’t have enough glue to make him whole.

5 weeks ago he took me to his favorite spot.

I longed.  We touched.  He denied.

It is complicated.

Tangled love, sealed with expectations stole him.

I cried. He loved. We went on.
