. This is a simple write up on deceptive appearances for everybody to be careful. |
DECEPTIVE APPEARANCES In our childhood we used to read a story of ‘Wolf & Woodcutter’. In this story the wolf attempts to eat away the little girl, while giving her a deceptive appearance of maternal grand mother. The little girl was luckily saved by a woodcutter who happened to pass by and the wolf was killed in the rescue operation by woodcutter. This is a simple small story but gives lessons to all to be careful from people of deceptive appearances. On the shore of a river or a pond stands whirlwind. It looks extremely beautiful like swan. It generally stands on one leg in water for hours like a mendicant in deep meditation giving a rare appearance. It seems that it is wearing a holy scarf around the neck with God’s name written all over and doing vermilion on it’s fore head, looks as if it is guarding the fishes. It swallows the fish in less than a moment such that nobody is able to catch it while it is swallowing the fish. Lord Rama, who is considered best amongst in all humans in strictly adhering to laid down tenants of religion, ran after the magical gold deer for hunting. When it was struck by an arrow from Lord Rama, It cried “ Oh Lord!” Before giving up it’s body. When demon king kidnapped Goddess Sita by deceiving her as a renouncient in saffron clothes, she cried, “Oh Rama !” The above stated are a few symbolic examples of deceptive appearance which bring disaster in our lives. It is said that poets can reach the places where even the Sun light cannot reach. Therefore obligations for poets for society are many fold. So when I as a poet try to count the deceptive faces in the society, I have to close my eyes due to shame of having very large number of deceptive faces amongst us. In the field of education, trade, politics, matters of national defense, agricultural products, building material or security of currency deceptive practices are being adopted. May God save our country. We all adopt deceptive practices in our talk, dress, facial expressions and actions. If this deception is not stopped, the collapse of society is imminent. |
