Marching Band

The show is about to begin
I take a deep breath
the nervousness consuming me
I listen to the roar of the Friday night crowd
Now expectant of a magical performance
Some only come to see the show
I close my eyes, as the announcer welcomes us onto the field
This performance must be the best yet
We have all worked hard
and this is what every exhausting practice has come to
I fall into place and the show has begun
