young woman being stalked by The Other, a being that torments, cares for and protects her.
The other

Prologue

She’s here again.

She says she knows me, loves me, cares for me.

I believe Her as I always have.

She lies next to me at night. Holds me while I cry. Tells me it will be alright.

She’s always there. Talking, talking, talking. Noisy, busy, never quiet.

There’s no peace, and no escape.

She can go on forever, she says.

I’m exhausted. Weary.

She’s always angry.

I’m afraid. Of Her.

I know what she’ll do. She says she’ll never leave me.

I want her.

Need her.

To go.

She says there’s only one way she’ll go, and I know, that if she goes, I go.
