A short, true story about love, devotion, and faith.
This is a story about boy meets girl; one that began simple, sweet, and innocent ending in tragic heartache. Then again, how many end differently? Nevertheless, this one was different. This one filled every sense with passion and memories, feelings so strong flowing through every vein burning at her fingertips. It started late December 2008 and has yet to end. She writes her stories to keep the memories alive. In case he comes back for her, it will feel like he never left. She writes because that is all she can do; she writes because that is what she does best; she writes because it eases the pain, and for a short period, it is as if he is still there, with her.
She knew he was different because the smiles he gave her were different. They were brighter, more genuine, and more permanent. It did not take these smiles long to begin, all in a matter of seconds upon meeting him. She caught herself intrigued by this new feeling, but scared, scared of failure, of pain. Yet, she threw caution to the wind and allowed her heart to flow freely.
Describing the events that took place in those fated 29 months is almost impossible. To attempt to convey the feelings she felt, the thoughts she had, the colors she saw, would be useless. For without feeling them yourself, you might think her crazy. She was far from crazy, though. She was in pure love, something so rare to this world. She loved without measure, with reckless abandon, unconditionally. The kisses they shared, the love they made, there was nothing more to find in this world to her. Instead, she found herself longing for his dreams, hurting for his pain, reveling in his happiness. She wanted to teach him, teach him about love, adventure, devotion, bliss. She wanted to share the beautiful colors of this world that he had yet to see with his own eyes, feel with his own heart. Later, her desperate efforts would fall in her tears, but she would never regret.
The stories she writes keep her love alive because more than anything, she fears moving on without him. She fears feeling love for someone else. She fears abandoning him. She waits for the day to fit her tiny hands around his face, kiss his tender lips, calm his heart, and welcome him back into her life. Until then, her tears will pour, her feelings will surge, and her body will ache in his absence. She knows the ending is one of happiness, though, so she does not surrender. She is certain that this is not goodbye; there is more, so she lets him run as she continues to write.
