Writer's Cramp Entry |
(30 Lines) There are only five places of importance in my tiny town house My favorite being where I spend time with my soon to be spouse My fiancée and I have adjacent work stations Where we sit and write and share our frustrations Together, our thoughts bring radiance to the room Together, our ideas are able to blossom and bloom Computers and desks, which are side by side Our habits seem to coincide It’s a bit messy in my favorite area The thought of someone intruding causes hysteria Our empty cans and wrappers clutter our space Our belongings haven’t a place You’ll often hear something being knocked behind and below Since we’re frantically typing we just let it go and go and go Until it grumbles and grows to consciousness You needn’t worry, it leaves and with it, a forwarding address As it packs and tramples out the door Something else bangs upon the floor In all seriousness something lives in our sink And when it’s not properly attended to it produces quite the stink The tiny kitchen is not one of my favorite spots Nonetheless fumes are carried to us from dirty pots If I’ve not taken out the trash in several weeks I’m always irritated when the trash bag leaks Near my favorite chair where I sit and type Where the smells are always ripe The sights are too beautiful to behold Of course, if you can get past the mold You’ll hear my fiancée and typing away Bringing warmth and joy literally keeping the foul things at bay |
