THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS There are so many blessings we do not always see, like the love of family and friends, and sweet liberty. I am truly blessed, although at times I feel "down", so it's a good thing to ponder all the blessings around. The refrigerator was almost empty, there is no bird. Some head-shaking and worry-warts could be heard. I needed a miracle and God would show me the way to provide for my family on this thanksgiving Day! Saying a prayer works wonders if you really believe. Take no time to dawdle, don't waste time to grieve! Get out the rolling pin, whip up two pumpkin pies, give one to the neighbors and brighten their eyes! I foraged through the cupboard, found more to eat, now all that was lacking was some turkey meat! Times have been hard and the bills are piled high, then my children came home, a gleam in their eye. Seems that a turkey and 'taters found their way, into our home just before our Thanksgiving Day. We chatted and cooked, then set up our table, gathered together, just like the old Dickens fable. Thanksgiving blessings came in the nick of time, my family and friends made the day mighty fine. I praise God for His compassion and for His love, for true thanksgiving blessings come from above! HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL! Countrymom 11/24/10 |
