"Stay Focused Poetry" is inspiration for believers. |
Adapted from: Matthew 20: 27-28 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. And one day I prayed… Dear Lord I want to know you... "Be Holy for I am Holy." The word said in truth. "Are you willing to die for a friend?" No doubt was my natural reply. "But wait" the Lord advised. "I know you’re ready to fight and defend. But ask inside am I willing to die to myself for them?" Die for my friend? "Yes, lay down your life." Die to myself? "A servant for life." Do you mean I have to... take it when they don’t always notice their neglect of me, Loving deeper than the desire to defend my needs? "Greater love hath no man than this." Lay down my pride when their love’s amiss "There will surely be days when you surrender to this, the tears and long spells of being alone or dismissed. There will be days when humility will have to heal because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but they are real." "When the world says you were used or I wouldn’t let anyone do that to me and retaliation is the only choice they see… A servant stands still, acknowledges their gift, in true love there is no shame for my strength is made perfect in your weakness." Now...The Word says in truth. Are you willing to die for a friend? I know you’re ready to fight and defend. But ask yourself deep down inside, am I willing to die for them to my pride? I would not ask you to do anything that I have not done. Be Holy for I am Holy. |
