Just another pawn

The devil watched the young boy, trying to be a man.
The boy was weak,
From his party streak,
And that demon had a plan…

First he’d tempt that young man, see his woman is his rock.
His life would blur,
If he lost her,
And his demons would unlock.

Then he’d take out his best friend, just as the knight removes a pawn.
With no ally in sight,
He’d lose that light,
And be dark as sin by dawn.

“I will sabotage that youngster; it will be easy, clean and bleak"
His hope will dim,
His demons brim.
When pawn and maker meet.
