  The girl who stands before me is hard to describe. She is confident, but in a way shy. She is pretty, but gives an ugly scowl at the most terrible time.  Perhaps it’s just her demeanor, perhaps it’s her size, perhaps it’s the way she walks, but I never thought it would be her mind.

  Janelle Ann Clack. Born January 20, hazel eyes, and flowing brown hair, just stopping at her waist. The smile she shines is like none other, and well, she just gushes at everything there is to speculate. Many people don’t see the side of Janelle I see, and don’t let me rub you the wrong way or anything, but a lot of people only see her as… stupid.

  She’s not challenged, but she’s mute, only she can speak, just can’t. It’s all very confusing, but care to let me explain. When Janelle was born, she wouldn’t cry. Everyone feared that a hand of death had touched the  infant; only miraculously the baby wasn’t dead, just refusing to cry. Why? No one knows of course, you can’t ask a new born infant anything, especially ones that don’t cry. The child hasn’t uttered one word since the day she was born, she’s capable of speaking, just doesn’t see a point in it I guess. Many people transfer this into a lack of knowledge. How can one understand anything in the world, if she doesn’t speak to it? You can’t get a dog to come to you without calling its name. Only maybe you can, if you’re holding a slice of fresh meat, surely any wise dog would come beg for it?  My theory is… Janelle has her own meat, maybe it’s not to call for a dog, and maybe it’s not meat at all, but she has her own way of working in this world, and that work doesn’t require speech.

  Looking back now, there were too many times I swore that Janelle was not ready for this world. Only now I realize the world was not ready for her.
