She was trapped in a world she never asked for. Now things have gone from bad to worse.
The Little Girl

The little girl sat on the edge of the ocean all day

In a land like ours, not too far away

Her eyes were blue, her face was red

The reason is simple, her parents were dead

The little girl had seen how it happened that night

The horrible words that lead to the fight

She said it was over, she said they were through

That there wasn't a damn thing about it he could do

The little girl watched as he slapped her to the floor

She saw all of this through a crack in the door

In the glass house that rested by the sea

Her father helped her mother cease to be

The little her cried, sobbing with fear

She covered her ears, not wanting to hear

Fourteen years of life never prepared her for this

Her mother, her best friend and confidant will surely be missed

The little girl saw him drop to his knees

Cries of sorrow, regret, moans of God please

She walked in, stood beside her then everything went black

The next thing she knew he was dead on his back

The little girl looked down, stunned by what she saw

She ran as fast as she could, bolting out the front door

Once at the beach she crashed down to the sand

That's when she noticed the gun in her hand

The little girl who sat on the edge of the sea all day long

Wonder what in the world had went wrong

However there was no time for this now

With the cops in the distance a gun went
