My Easter 2010

MY EASTER 2010

Chocolate stains on my face,

beer fueled running race.

Talking around the BBQ,

stubby holders, “Tooheys New.”

“Poke the sausages, flip the meat!”

Everyones an expert.

“Needs more heat!”

The girls are talking domestic chores,

“I use Jiff to mop the floors”.

The boys jokes get loud and rude.

The women sedate them with more food.

Pet dog Buddy humps all that moves.

Better tell bro’ he has his shoes.

The kids are full of energy,

“Come on, come on, play with me!”

The trampoline looks pretty easy,

two minutes later I feel queasy.

Shouldn’t have tried to jump so high,

Too many bottles of, “Tooheys Dry”.

Red wine.

Sun shine.

Creating memories that outlive time.

I take a moment to look around,

happy faces, happy sounds.

I feel so lucky to be me,

and all because of family.
