Finding peace ... A Country Music Lover's Entry |
Desert, Cactus, and Tumbleweeds The big city lights hold no attraction. Fast cars and money give no satisfaction. What good is it all if it costs you your soul? I need a place where I can feel whole; where life isn't always out of control. I'll trade in my suit for an old pair of jeans and Chateau Briand for biscuits and beans. I'll leave it behind; I'll feel no remorse. No GPS voice, just the sound of my horse, will guide my pathway and keep me on course. (Chorus) The sun warms my face with gentle caressing. The wind sings its songs and offers its blessing. Like a flower springs forth from buried seeds – I found a place that meets all of my needs with desert, cactus, and tumbleweeds. The sun fades away and the stars fill the sky. Like embers, old mem'ries fade and then die. Like the heat headin' skyward, I find release as the worries I've carried finally cease. As I sit in the quiet, I know I've found peace. (Chorus) The sun warms my face with gentle caressing. The wind sings its songs and offers its blessing. Like a flower springs forth from buried seeds – I found a place that meets all of my needs with desert, cactus, and tumbleweeds. ... with desert, cactus, and tumbleweeds ... (fade) ... Stars light the way, I'll follow their leads ... to desert, cactus, and tumbleweeds. ... to desert, cactus, and tumbleweeds ...
