This is my attempt to tackle every major verse form. First up the Sonnet:
The Blue Day
The shadows stretch and my head is a daze.
As bones and night thoughts draw down the blue day.
So now I view with interior gaze.
The sights of a place where pictures hold sway.
The visions I see there dare me to think,
That my life is not all that it could be.
They tempt me and tease as the night hours shrink.
Show me futures that are as they should be.
They frighten and shock, pander and please.
'Till sleep slips back through the cracks in the walls.
Wakefulness beckons my spirit with ease.
And that concrete dream in my ear it calls.
But another blue day comes in to view.
And all I see is a picture of you.
