Waiting for a meeting with someone you love

Rendezvous

The wind is cool, softly blowing.
The moon has kissed the sea.
The sound of the waves melodically clashing.
Will you remember me?

The soft but gritty sand between my toes.
The saltiness of the air.
The noisy quiet of the night.
Will you remember that I am here?

The soft caress on my skin
as the wind touches my clothes.
Reminds me of the last time we met,
and the touch on me you bestowed.

The quiet, once friendly, now is lonely;
as the minutes begin to pass.
The chill has finally seeped into my skin,
awaiting your touch to warm me at last.

I sit on the soft but gritty sand
with my chin down on my knees.
I will wait here forever for you.
Will you come to me?

Watching the stars and their light display,
and the moon dancing on the water too.
I realize the silence is not so silent.
You remembered our rendezvous.
