The weather, so cold
I hate this time of year.
Ice and snow
enforces your hibernating skills.
An inviting fire,
a hot cup of tea,
a good book or a movie
and something fattening to eat.
But at some point in the night
and some times in the day,
I want nothing more than to be with you;
nothing else needed to entertain.
Get a blanket,
or get under the covers.
Get in your favorite spot,
so we can snuggle.
I'll face the window,
if you'll get my back.
Wrap your arms around me,
and just relax.
Not a word need be spoken,
keep the thoughts in our heads.
Dozing off and on
with you holding my hand.
