Just something that happened
It came like a howling tornado upon this land, a land of barren and unknown threats. He remembered with quiet distaste how the moment sealed his fate. Left shell shocked like a post war veteran. Trying to comprehend the moment.

The woman gazed out of the window. Tears streaked her face as she tried to hold back the tears yet again. The answer had finally arrived with a 10 second delay as it registered with her cold and relentless heart.

The cold light of day being relinquished to the male as he sat mouth open on the edge of the bath holding his future within his hand, unable to speak just reluctance giving way to acceptance. Again his time would be allowed to flourish and past mistakes would never be made again. This time he was going to be the person he should have been all those years ago.

The cold relentless bitch pushed herself up from the bed and walked down the landing to the stairs, noting with amusement the sobs from the bathroom. She walked into the kitchen and placed the kettle under the tap and proceeded to make her coffee. Her thoughts already weighing up the decision she would need to make.

He thought long and hard, dried his eyes and looked forward with hope in his heart. It wasn’t going to be easy he knew that but he was willing to make the commitment that was required of him. He just hoped she felt the same. He’d heard her walk down the stairs and he’d wished she would have came in to speak to him and allow him to console her.

She sat there on the settee watching football, playing or texting on the mobile phone. She didn’t look at him as he entered.

He asked if she was okay as he walked into the kitchen himself to make a drink she responded with a none committal “I’m ok”. He tried to approach her, to hold her but was blanked and cut short by her leaving the seat and going to the bathroom.

This was the future; this was the end although not knowing at the time how things would pan out things were great between them until that day. Love flowed between them, each giving their bodies to one another without restraint. The ecstasy of their love making only gaining as they grew more comfortable with each others bodies
