The Written Word

Beautiful words written
in not so beautiful script.
Pen to paper,
emotions spent.
Every heart wrenching word
felt with certainty;
no doubting the meaning ,
or sincerity.
But now,
personal is not attached to a note.
Emotions are cut down
to some anecdote.
Misunderstandings
and hurt feelings abound.
Literary finesse
is not always found.
Punch a few characters,
a text can be sent.
No need to know how to write,
or form a sentence.
Technology has crippled us.
some will never understand;
the beauty of the written word,
written by hand.
