This is a poem I wrote about when I'm sitting in class with minutes before the bell.
Class

I sit in class, looking out the glass.

Wishing I could be out there.

Starring off into mid air.

I hear the leaves crackling, and the birds hackling.

I see the cars passing and the sun casting.

While I sit in class, imagining.

The teacher’s teaching, while my mind’s wondering.

Pondering about the outside world.

I am counting down the minutes until the bell.

My heart’s pacing from anticipation and waiting.

I sit nervously with minutes to go…

To be outside and let my mind flow.

Minutes pass, this seems like the longest class.

I pack up my things and zip up my bag.

They’re lowering the American Flag.

Seconds left, I hear the ring.

I stand up because I appreciate the littler things.

She dismisses the class, I am walking so fast.

At last! I am outside, I am free!
