I always said that when I start having kids, I’ll write about them,
Now that the time is near to have you, I think it’s time to start,
It’s the least I can do to pass the long days of waiting for you,
I can’t wait to see you, see what you look like,
I like to think of you as a reincarnation,
I’ll explain when you’re old enough to understand

I’m more than excited to have and keep you,
I’ll always love you, even if you turn out like me,
I want to teach you all I know, and then some,
I hope that you’re as open-minded as I am and very accepting towards people,
That is something I know I will pass down to you

I want to teach you how to write as well as me,
Help you write poems, songs, books, whatever you like,
I want to see the world with you,
Watch you learn new things, become a great person,
I’ll always love you my little E.V.
