Things you'll never know

You say you want to know everything there is
About me, my life, what makes me smile or hiss.
You say you want to know me like no one in the world,
To know what I am thinking by my look and not a word.

You say you want us married, you say you love me most
And because of all you say, sometimes I feel lost,
I even cried last night - but you'll never know -
And you know most things, but I'm still closed up though.

You tease me all the time and you make me laugh,
But what you don't know is that I'm cut in half,
You don't know why I write this, what is in my heart,
You don't know that I'm not sure if what I'm doing is smart.

You don't know that I love you and you don't know how much;
You don't know that sometimes I tremble when we touch...
You know none of this and I'll keep it that way
Because of so many reasons I'm not allowed to say.

And one more thing you don't know, one that matters so -
That I'm not sure if I'll be able to ever let you go.
You are in my heart, my soul and my mind
And though sometimes I hate you, you're the best one I can find.

So please don't make me cry and try not to tease,
Because it hurts so much, so once again - please;
And show me sometimes that you love me as you say
If you want to keep all my tears away...
