A Magical Evening

A sumptuous evening shared, just we two
Wine and laughter, beguiling gazes, shy glances
Silent words speaking volumes

Two hearts connected with
thoughts only of tonight, through burning passion
Senses reel with musical sounds
This is life’s delight

Shadows touch while
a thief’s fingers steal caresses
Aching with desire, breath upon breath, singing an aria of love
Taking more, giving more

Lips taste of ecstasy
The fragrance of love, intoxicating
Blood runs hot, in danger of boiling over
Turbulent emotions real, there will be no turning back

Moving together like ebbing tides in
a slow tangling dance of limbs
Slithering and writhing in rhythm
Eyes falling upon each other, 
we are brought to the edge, barely hanging on

The chain, stretched to its limit for one more moment
Our bodies tighten and consent in a violent detonation
Strengthening our grasp, we release and relax

Then lazily we laugh and while catching our breath,
we bathe in the euphoria that is each other
And if tomorrow may I die,
life will have been fulfilled
